We are generally told to be compassionate towards others, to be nice to your friends and family, to be kind to elders. But we are never told to be nice to ourselves. We are generally our best critics but that can be quite taxing on our everyday lives. It is very important to learn the art self compassion. Not only it is good for your mental health but according to the scientists it can have positive effects on the physical health as well.

During the tough phases of life it is important to be kind to yourself and remember that you cannot have everything in life and you can’t make everyone happy either. It is easier to get out of failure if you are compassionate to yourself.

When you love yourself and are not dependent on outside sources or people to make you feel loved, that is when you become a more understanding person in general. It can help you to relate and bond with others better.
