We’re all well-versed with what IQ is – Intelligence Quotient – but how many of us know about EI or Emotional Intelligence.
Well, Emotional Intelligence is about being aware of our own emotions as well as those of others. It is the capability of handling interpersonal relationships judiciously and with empathy. A higher IQ is futile if you’re low on EI, because having higher EI shows that you’re a human and not a robot.
A person with higher emotional intelligence has many good traits such as the following…
1. They quickly adapt to change
They swear by that Charles Darwin quote, “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change.” They change cities and they learn the local language, get used to the local food and transport. They don’t get hung up on the past. They change accordingly to the situations.
2. They put themselves in others’ shoes before judging anything
People with higher emotional intelligence are empathetic. They’re compassionate and kind and think about what others go through during tough situations.
