7 Reasons Why People Are Afraid To Fall In Love These Days

First, let me start off by acknowledging that falling in love just happens to be one of the most pure, surreal and, for lack of a better word, magical feelings in the world.

Those things you see in the movies? Butterflies flying in the stomach? Dreaming about him/her every night? Feeling like you’ve finally found what you were looking? Yeah, all those things actually happen when you fall in love with someone. But, for better or for worse, there are many people out there who are actually afraid to fall in love these days and before you start judging them, it’s important to understand why they feel that way.

As magical and sublime as falling in love can be, it’s not without its drawbacks, and for some people dealing with the effects of those drawbacks can be devastating. So on that note, here are 7 reasons why some people are actually afraid to fall in love these days:

1. The “once bitten, twice shy” syndrome might be in play.

For some people, their past relationship might have been too toxic for them to even bother falling in love again. It might have been filled with conflict, he/she might have cheated on them, or worse, it might have been abusive. As such, it’s understandable why they might be afraid to fall in love again.
