They were master pickpockets, and they had one tool to make their plan all the easier: children. The children would serve as distractions while they did the deed. The problem? Those poor children were not their own.
They kidnapped several children over the course of their unsavory career. Any children who fussed too much risked being killed by the women. In one case, the mother kidnapped a boy who would not stop crying. In a fit of frustration, she beat the child to death with an iron bar. The women eventually got caught when they chose their stepsister as a victim. They were all sentenced to death, although the mother passed away before she could make it to prison.
