It turns out that Griselda Blanco was not the only woman to ever establish herself as a successful drug master. Shashikala Pantankar tended to a thriving kingdom of her own, only in Mumbai, India. Her specialty was dealing a type of meth called mephedrone, known colloquially as Meow Meow. This peculiar street name scored Patankar the nickname, Kitty.
“Kitty” didn’t start out so powerful though. She started with plain old marijuana until she discovered the goldmine that is mephedrone. Soon, much of Mumbai was crazy for the drug, which helped Kitty carve out a lucrative niche for herself. It all came to an end in 2015, when she was finally arrested.
