31. Anne Bonny
Pirates have become quite prevalent in pop culture. Most find their rugged nature, their love of the ocean, and stereotypical patterns of speech to be alluring, endearing even. Of course, many also know what being a pirate really entails. Anne Bonny is the perfect embodiment of that.

Even as a child, Anne was rebellious and had a violent streak to her. It was rumored that she was responsible for the death of her servant. Soon, Anne found herself kicked out of her childhood home and forced to fend for herself. Shortly after, she married a man named James Bonny and they took off to the ocean. Bonny later fell in love with pirate Calico Jack and chose to abandon her husband to pursue the life of a marauder. Soon, she was plundering, raiding, and killing without mercy.
