If you have experienced it, you would very well know that fighting depression is a painfully daunting task.

You become a different person altogether. All the chirpiness, excitement and long talks suddenly turn into a dull, silent and uninspired life. There are things that you do while fighting depression that the normal version of you would never even think of doing and that is exactly what we are going to share in this article.

We asked 15 depression survivors about the strange things that they did during their struggle and here’s what they had to say:

“Sat under the shower for an hour contemplating about what I’m doing with my life.”

“Sobbed constantly until I lost my breath every time I visited the therapist.”

“Avoided taking shower for a week, multiple times.”

“Ate one full jar of Nutella while binge watching FRIENDS late night.”

“Lost my temper with everyone who did not give me attention and also with everyone who gave me too much of it.”

“I once skipped my own birthday party.”

“Slept for 14 hours straight followed by naps throughout the day.”

“Left calls, messages and emails unanswered for days.”

“Texted every single person in my contact list, trying to socialise and make myself feel better.”

“Forced my friends go out for a drive with me post midnight and harassed them to stay till the sun came out.”

“Ditched every plan my friends made.”

“Watched videos of dogs getting reunited with their owners for the whole day.”

“Did not change my clothes for days.”

“Made a list of ‘ways to commit suicide’ and drafted a note (just in case).”

“Consumed nothing but potato fries and water for days.”
