The 21 Most Expensive Food Dishes Around The World

20. Barclay Prime, Philadelphia — $100 cheesesteak

How much would you pay for a Philly cheesesteak? Stephen Starr, owner of Barclay Prime restaurant, hopes your answer is in the triple digits. The latest draw to this upscale restaurant for serious patrons is the aptly-named $100 Cheesesteak.

While Starr admits that the sandwich is a marketing ploy for the Philly-based restaurant, the most expensive cheesesteak appears to be worth every penny. Of course, it’s a given that the sandwich is made with Kobe beef. The sandwich also includes $17-per-pound Taleggio cheese, Sautéed foie gras, caramelized onions, heirloom shaved tomatoes and $900-per-pound shaved truffles. It’s a bit of a step up from your standard roast beef and provolone sandwich.
