Mother nature’s offerings are a bounty that is constantly within our reach. She is artful, colorful, and mesmerizing. All we have to do is go out there and pick up the tools! And this is exactly what this Latvian family does – nature art.
Creating anything as a family is a form of art in and of itself. Their cooperation and willingness to stick to the task as one is inspiring, and it all started with the little one of the family, who was tasked with creating a mandala way back when at the beginning of Covid lockdowns. They decided to make it a mandala of beach pebbles as a way of reconnecting with nature and leaving the confines of the lockdown.
This practice became their weekend pastime and an additional source of income, as they also sell unframed photographs of their creations. Imagine what it would be like to come across their work in real life!
Each work is unique by nature. They mostly make animal designs, all from materials collected on the beach: conches and shells, pebbles and rocks, and some beach glass too. This is by no means a leisurely task – the family even goes out to the beach when the winds are high and chilly! Visit their Instagram page for behind-the-scenes images of their process. If you’re interested, you can purchase prints of their works on Etsy.
